Haltom City Major Accident Jaws of Life Hurst Tool

Major accident in Haltom City where two patients had to be extricated from the vehicle that took about 30-40 minutes. Medical helicopters were not available due to weather and patients were taken by ground ambulance to JPS hospital in Fort Worth. You can see the last person loaded they hurried to get stable in the ambulance and going to the hospital. First report was that one person was unresponsive and trapped in car. This is also a very good example of how well a private ambulance service works with a municipal fire department. medstar provides EMS and Paramedic services for Haltom City, Fort Worth, Forest Hills and many other cities, including Texas Motor Speedway. These cities do not have ambulances and utilize medstar for transport. The last patient in the ambulance you will see a Haltom City Paramedic getting in the ambulance and working the patient. This was because careflight helicopter was grounded do to weather (Because there were reported tornadoes). I saw the second medstar ambulance leave with the Haltom City Paramedic, my guess is because of careflight being grounded and the severity of the patients injuries. This is not a common practice, but does happen on occasion. This was also the same day the Dallas Cowboys indoor football tent collapse and most of all media was at this location at the time. Do to the severity of the Cowboy incident, video was not aired at 10pm. I did not go to the collapse scene and stayed in my normal area for anything that may happen do to the limited media personal. I was the only media at the scene and normally this would have been covered by all 4 stations in Dallas/Fort Worth.
